Visitors can explore nature trails and ride horses around the 127 acre landscape. The arboretum is children friendly and there is a garden that is tend by local children from ages five to thirteen years old. The children work on the garden as an afternoon and summer project. They grow different plants including vegetables, a variety of herbs and even flowers.

The Turtle Back Zoo, in Chatham NJ

Home of around 1,400 animals, the Turtle Back Zoo will be an interesting place to visit. First opened in 1963 the zoo only featured animals that were from New Jersey. They have now grown and home to animals from all over the world. The zoo has an aviary where the birds are able to fly around freely. There are several exhibits and a petting zoo of farm animals. One exhibit is the Tropical Currents Aquarium which is home to fish from all over the globe. There is a reptile exhibit and an Australian exhibit where visitors can see animals from Australia. The zoo also offers behind the scene tours for their giraffe exhibit.
